Don Emde

With his victory in the 1972 Daytona 200, Don Emde became the first son of a former Daytona 200 winner to win the Florida classic. Emde’s father, Floyd, accomplished the feat in 1948 on an Indian. Don came back and won the race 24 years later. To date, the Emdes are the only father and son to have won the Daytona 200. After his racing career, Don Emde went on to become author of “Daytona 200,” the authoritative book on the history of America’s most famous motorcycle race. Read more about Don Emde

Joe Colombero

Joe ColomberoJoe Colombero began racing motorcycles when he was just eight years old in the fiercely competitive District 37 Dirt Tracks of southern California. Along the way he got to race some of the most legendary tracks in the state and has fond memories of Ascot, Saddleback, Perris, Prado, Elsinore, Corona, and Riverside Raceway. Colombero joined the US Navy after getting his degree from UC Santa Cruz and joined the staff of Dirt Bike magazine when he returned to the states after serving with distinction. Joe then moved to Cycle News and was later recruited by Mark Blackwell to join American Suzuki Motor Corporation as their Press Relations Manager. At Suzuki Joe was quickly promoted to run the Sports Promotions Department where he signed a young rider from Maryland named Travis Pastrana to his first contract. Colombero also created Suzuki’s Good Scholar Program and formed Suzuki’s Off-Road factory team and asked Rodney Smith to ride for Suzuki on his way to five AMA GNCC titles. Boyko Racing

Boyko Racing

For the installation of the accessories, we took the KTMs to Ted Boyko of Boyko Racing. He’s one of the best mechanics and tuners in the business and is a genius when it comes to fit, finish, wiring, mounting and detail work. We basically drop off two stock KTM 990s and some boxes full of accessories and Boyko racing did the rest. Boyko Racing is located in Costa Mesa, Ca. Phone: 949-939-5330. Email:

Steve Huntzinger

Steve’s definitely one of the very best tuners and restorers of early American motorcycles that you will anywhere. The earlier the better. I took him the 1913 Indian twin that we use for some demonstration rides and had him go through the motor and running gear so we will have a reliable machine for that.
